Our Environmental Commitment

At Sacha Hotel Centric, we are committed to actively contributing to environmental protection and sustainable development through our operations, business decisions, and the involvement of our team members and guests.

Our environmental management aims to reduce the impact of our activities, promote the responsible use of natural resources, and create value for society and future generations.

Sacha Hotel Centric and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) represent a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure the well-being of all people.

The 17 SDGs, adopted in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, establish global targets to be achieved by the year 2030.

At Sacha Hotel Centric, we align our activities with these goals by incorporating responsible practices into our daily operations and contributing, from the hospitality sector, to the sustainable development of our region.

Climate Protection at Sacha Hotel Centric

Climate change represents one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time. In line with the Paris Agreement, through which 195 countries committed to limiting the rise in global temperatures, our hotel actively works to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

We are implementing concrete measures to decrease our carbon footprint. Through these actions, we aim to reduce our CO₂ emissions by 37% over the next three years.

Actions to Protect the Climate

  • Use of electricity from renewable sources, primarily hydroelectric power.

  • Progressive implementation of solar water heating systems, with the goal of covering at least 35% of the energy consumption for this service starting in 2024.

  • Optimization of energy use across all hotel operational areas.

Energy Efficiency and Responsible Electricity Use

Energy efficiency is a fundamental pillar of our environmental strategy. Our goal is to reduce energy consumption through efficient technology and best operational practices.

Implemented Measures

  • Installation of low-consumption LED lighting in rooms, hallways, outdoor areas, staircases, offices, and the lobby.

  • Use of efficient convection heaters for room heating.

  • Implementation of key card energy control systems (switch cards) that automatically disconnect power when guests are not in the room.

  • Installation of smart lighting sensors in public areas that reduce light intensity during low traffic periods or at night.

Responsible Water Management

Responsible water use is a key part of our sustainability strategy. At Sacha Hotel Centric, we implement various measures to reduce water consumption.

Implemented Measures

  • Installation of faucets with aerators in guest rooms, reducing water consumption by approximately 40% (up to 3 liters per minute).

  • Use of atomizing faucets in public restrooms, optimizing water flow and preventing waste.

  • Installation of dual-flush toilets for efficient water use.

  • Guest awareness initiatives to reduce unnecessary towel washing, encouraging reuse during their stay.

In 2022, we recorded an average consumption of 189 liters of water per guest per night, and we continue working to reduce this indicator in the coming years.

Sustainable Operations and Services

In our daily operations, we prioritize waste reduction, material reuse, and recycling.

Actions to Reduce Plastic Use

  • Replacement of plastic and Styrofoam cups with biodegradable alternatives, avoiding the use of approximately 8,000 plastic cups per year.

  • Replacement of individual amenities with dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and soap, preventing the generation of more than 18,000 single-use plastic containers, equivalent to 1.3 tons of plastic.

  • Separation and delivery of PET bottles to the municipal recycling program, in coordination with the Provincial Municipality of Cusco.

  • In 2022, we delivered 288 kg of PET plastic for recycling.
